This is a ruthless disease.
Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect until it is too late. The average survival rate for stage IV pancreatic cancer is a little over 6 months - 180 days to get your life in order and say goodbye to those you love. It is slated to become the second leading cause of cancer death in the next few years. We want to help change those numbers. We are honored to be partnering with the Abramson Cancer Center at The University of Pennsylvania. 100% of the money that we raise will fund cutting edge research here in Philadelphia.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the few cancers for which survival has not improved substantially over nearly 40 years.
Pancreatic cancer is a leading cause of cancer death largely because there are no detection tools to diagnose the disease in its early stages when surgical removal of the tumor is still possible.

A Love for Life also works to raise awareness for this disease, and pushes for increased funding from the NCI.
  • Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers.
  • 74% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis.
  • An estimated 66,440 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S.in 2024, and over 51,750 will die from the disease.
  • Only 13% of patients diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer will survive more than five years.
  • The average life expectancy after diagnosis with metastatic disease is just six months.
