Teachers Institute of Philadelphia
TIP at 10

Celebrating 10 Years
Join us in celebrating the Teachers Institute of Philadelphia's tenth year of providing School District of Philadelphia (SDP) teachers with extraordinary professional development seminars.

Since 2006, hundreds of teachers have participated in--and have been inspired by--TIP's academic professional development seminars, led by University of Pennsylvania professors. TIP Fellows, who are K-12 teachers from various SDP schools, create substantive, engaging curriculum units for their students.

TIP teachers and curriculum units have enriched the learning of tens of thousands of Philadelphia students. More than 300 curriculum units are available on TIP's website for use by teachers everywhere. We invite you to learn more about our program at: www.tip.sas.upenn.edu.
What TIP Teachers Say
Many Fellows consider TIP to be the finest professional development that they have ever experienced. Given the dire financial circumstances in the School District of Philadelphia, TIP's work is even more important.

"I am at a loss to think of any other professional development for teachers that is as worthwhile and enjoyable as the Teachers Institute."
-- High school biology and chemistry teacher

"Keep up the superb work! We teachers need the validation and intellectual stimulation. We bring these benefits to our children in the classroom."
-- Kindergarten teacher

"Participating in [TIP] always has a very positive effect in my school. It opens up another level of conversation with teachers. But most of all, the students benefit."
-- Elementary technology teacher
